Frisco's expands again, this time outside

By Erin Stubblefield

CUBA–Frisco’s Pub and Grill is adding finesse to outdoor dining with the completion of their most recent project.

Lined with gated fencing and stone walls, their outside eating area has been enhanced with cement flooring and a built-in fireplace. The new brick fireplace faces the Historic Main Street, and the outer section is monogrammed with a stone “F”.

Inspiration for a permanent outdoor setting came last summer when owners John and Virginia Watson set up a tent for a rehearsal dinner. Though it wasn’t their intention, the tent became popular among the customers, and was left up for the remainder of the summer.

“A lot of people enjoy eating dinner in the open-air,” Virginia commented, “And it’s our job to satisfy the customers.”

The Watsons contracted Perry Barton to put their idea on paper and design the outdoor setting. As the main contractor, Barton hired Stubblefield Concrete to pour the floor, Craig Stovall to lay the brick and build the fireplace, and All-Type Fencing to put up the surrounding gate.

The new dining area now holds up to 50 people, and it was first used on June 22nd for Jason and Victoria Meadows’ rehearsal dinner. With the new fireplace, customers will have the option of outdoor service well into the season of fall.

“Someday, I would like to be able to cook outside as well,” Virginia added.

Although their master plan isn’t quite fully complete just yet, the customers of Frisco’s Pub and Grill can enjoy the luxuries of fresh air feasting and patio service.
