CUBA–The Great All-American Road Show is headed down the highway towards Cuba.

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of some of America’s most well-known and iconic companies, a 75-day excursion is being undertaken along the Mother Road known as Route 66. The Kit-Cat and Friends Great All-American Road Show (GARS) will roll into the city on Friday, August 17, with special activities planned in the Historic Business District outside Main Street Bakery, the local sponsor for the event.

The road tour began on the first day of summer, June 21, in Santa Monica and will end on Labor Day, September 3, in Chicago. Companies involved in the show include makers of the famous eye-shifting Kit-Kat Klock, Frito-Lay, Cessna, Ford, Rival, Revlon, Alaska Airline and several more sponsors.

Various events are scheduled along Route 66. In Cuba, the tour will stop at the historic district and be parked at the bakery, along the railroad tracks.

Andy Sanazaro of Main Street Bakery is planning to have free coffee and donuts for the public that comes out to see the exhibition, as well as free samples of ice cream all day.

“They have a giant Kit-Kat clock on display and a 1932 Ford roadster hot rod also on display. It should be a lot of fun and something for people to see that they won’t see every day,” said Fran Eickhoff, a board member with the Route 66 Association of Missouri.
